Singapore’s Iconic Brewery Earns Guinness World Records Title for its Sky-High Craftsmanship
SINGAPORE, 12 March 2025 – LeVeL33, Singapore’s renowned rooftop microbrewery, has been officially recognised by Guinness World Records as the Highest Microbrewery in a Building, standing at an impressive 149.32 metres above the city. The prestigious record was awarded by Guinness World Records™ official adjudicator Emi Saito, marking a significant milestone for the brewery ahead of its 15th anniversary.
Founded in 2010 by Dr Martin Bém, LeVeL33 was built on the bold vision of blending old-world brewing traditions with modern urban dining. Located 33 floors above the Marina Bay Financial Centre, it remains the only premium microbrewery of its kind, offering freshly brewed craft beers alongside panoramic skyline views.
Constructing a microbrewery at such a height was an ambitious challenge. In 2010, the team transported 8,000 kg of brewing equipment from Europe, including copper brewhouse kettles, fermentation tanks, and cooling systems, which were carefully hoisted up the skyscraper. This complex engineering effort has now been recognised on the global stage, with independent surveyor Andy Fisher confirming the final height measurement based on official Building and Construction Authority (BCA) plans.
LeVeL33’s resident brewmaster, Gabriel Garcia, crafts a variety of beers, including Viennese-style Lagers, Irish Stouts, and Czech Pilsners, using state-of-the-art European brewing technology and heritage recipes. Committed to sustainability, the brewery sources certified organic malts and hops, offering unfiltered and unpasteurised beers served fresh from tank to tap.
To celebrate its Guinness World Records™ title, LeVeL33 has released a special edition Blond Lager, featuring a commemorative label. Looking ahead, the microbrewery plans to expand its influence internationally, ensuring its “elevated experience” reaches new audiences beyond Singapore.
