
Prince Faisal bin Farhan leads discussions on climate and health, fostering multilateral cooperation in Rio de Janeiro.
RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil – Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah participated in the 17th BRICS Summit on 7 July 2025. Representing HRH the Crown Prince, he highlighted the Kingdom’s commitment to fruitful multilateral cooperation, aiming for a future of shared opportunity and development. The BRICS bloc, now including 11 members, prioritises global governance, finance, health, and climate action.
Key discussions led by the Minister focused on enhancing climate and health cooperation. He reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s adherence to the Paris Agreement and extended congratulations to Brazil for hosting COP30 in November 2025, anticipating positive outcomes for climate challenges.
The Minister also showcased Saudi leadership in addressing water scarcity, noting its advanced management technologies. He highlighted the establishment of the Global Water Organization, launched from Riyadh in May 2025, aimed at ensuring equitable water access worldwide.
Regarding health, Prince Faisal presented Saudi Vision 2030’s comprehensive reforms, focusing on prevention and integrated care. He also shared the Kingdom’s extensive experience in managing large gatherings, reinforcing its role as a regional hub for health emergency preparedness.
“The grave crises witnessed around the world serve as a reminder of shared responsibilities and the urgent need to avoid escalation to maintain security and prevent the expansion of conflicts,” Prince Faisal stated, calling for global efforts towards stability and peace.
