The Kamala Club, Singapore marked Raksha Bandhan with rakhis gifted by the High Commission of India, embracing the spirit of friendship and togetherness
The Kamala Club, Singapore commemorated the festival of Raksha Bandhan on 9 August 2025 with heartfelt celebrations and a meaningful exchange of sacred threads, symbolising love, protection, and support. The occasion was made even more special by the thoughtful gesture of the High Commission of India in Singapore, who sent beautifully handcrafted rakhis to the club’s members.

The members expressed deep appreciation for the High Commission’s kind gesture, describing it as a touching act of community spirit and solidarity. On the day of celebration, members tied the rakhis on their friends, extending the traditional sibling bond to a wider sense of fraternity within the club.

Raksha Bandhan, traditionally celebrated between brothers and sisters, has in recent years taken on a broader meaning in many communities. At the Kamala Club, it became a celebration of mutual care and connection among members, reinforcing the club’s long-standing commitment to unity and cultural values.
The club also highlighted the festival’s role in fostering inclusivity and cultural continuity, particularly within the Indian diaspora in Singapore. Members hoped that such celebrations would continue to strengthen social bonds across communities.
