The new award, part of the national Youth Development Strategy, celebrates young innovators and aims to strengthen their role in the Kingdom’s progress.

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has launched the inaugural Youth Development Award to coincide with International Youth Day, marking a significant milestone in the Kingdom’s ongoing efforts to empower its young population. The initiative forms part of the 2024 Youth Development Strategy, which seeks to enhance youth engagement in national development.

The launch drew strong participation, with the ministry receiving over 300 submissions from across the country. During the ceremony, 15 leading youth initiatives were recognised for their outstanding contributions across various fields of development.

Developed in collaboration with more than 30 public and private sector entities, the Youth Development Strategy runs until 2030. It aims to deliver wide-ranging programmes in areas such as youth-related legislation, capacity building for professionals working with young people, and increasing youth involvement in policymaking and community initiatives.

The ministry reaffirmed its commitment to fostering an enabling environment for young people, ensuring they are equipped to play a pivotal role in shaping the Kingdom’s future.
