Ministers from Singapore and India unveil new initiatives in manufacturing, digital economy, healthcare, and sustainability during the 3rd ISMR in New Delhi
New Delhi, 13 August 2025 – India and Singapore have reaffirmed their enduring strategic partnership at the 3rd India–Singapore Ministerial Roundtable (ISMR), held today in New Delhi. The high-level dialogue brought together key ministers from both nations to review progress and chart new directions under six key pillars of cooperation: Advanced Manufacturing, Connectivity, Digitalisation, Healthcare & Medicine, Skills Development, and Sustainability.

The Indian delegation included senior ministers such as Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, Dr. S. Jaishankar, Shri Piyush Goyal, and Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw. From Singapore, Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Gan Kim Yong led a strong ministerial team including Mr. K. Shanmugam, Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan, Ms. Josephine Teo, Dr. Tan See Leng, and Acting Minister Mr. Jeffrey Siow. The discussions underscored the mutual desire to deepen collaboration across sectors vital to both countries’ economic futures.
A notable feature of the roundtable was the presentation of the 3rd India–Singapore Business Roundtable report, which highlighted the dynamic role of the private sector in realising joint initiatives. Both sides acknowledged the importance of business-led innovation and investment to achieve sustainable and inclusive growth. The Singapore delegation also called on the Honourable President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, further symbolising the warmth and depth of bilateral relations.

In a sign of expanding economic engagement, the Singapore ministers also visited Mumbai for strategic discussions in trade, maritime infrastructure, and investment promotion. Their engagements reflect the growing commercial footprint Singapore has established across India’s key growth sectors.
The ISMR platform, first launched in 2022, continues to serve as a unique and forward-looking mechanism in the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two nations—an alliance that was further elevated during Prime Minister Modi’s 2024 visit to Singapore. As India advances its ‘Act East’ Policy, Singapore remains a vital partner in shaping a resilient and innovation-driven regional future.
