The Aseer Summer Season in Abha highlights the role of Arab arts in promoting cultural exchange and tourism, with Jordan’s Ma’an Folklore Troupe returning for a second year.

Arab arts took centre stage at the Aseer Summer Season, reinforcing their role as a bridge for communication between peoples, a reflection of national identity, and a driver of cultural cooperation across the region.

As part of the celebrations, the Jordanian Ma’an Folklore Troupe participated in the Abha Shopping Festival for the second consecutive year. The troupe presented a variety of traditional performances, which were warmly received by audiences.

Speaking to the Saudi Press Agency, troupe supervisor Mohammed Krishan said the group is committed to showcasing diverse traditional arts that reflect cultural heritage, including Dahhiyah, Dabke, and Jawfiyah. These collective folk performances, he noted, offer audiences an authentic experience of Arab traditions.

Mr Krishan added that participating in the festival for a second year provides an opportunity to strengthen the presence of Arab culture in regional events and to introduce audiences to heritage that continues to resonate across generations.
