On 2 October 2025, Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, Singapore’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, met H.E. Piyush Goyal, India’s Minister of Commerce and Industry, in Singapore. The meeting marked the third time the two Ministers had engaged within two months, highlighting the frequency and depth of Singapore-India relations.

The discussions followed a series of recent high-level engagements, including the India-Singapore Ministerial Roundtable in August and Prime Minister Lawrence Wong’s visit to India in September. Both leaders noted that these exchanges had generated strong momentum for advancing cooperation under the Singapore-India Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

During the meeting, the Ministers held wide-ranging talks on trade and economic developments. They agreed on the importance of strengthening resilience amid growing global supply chain pressures, recognising that both Singapore and India had a significant role to play in ensuring stability and connectivity in the region.

Dr Balakrishnan reaffirmed that Singapore remained India’s largest investor, reflecting the depth of economic engagement between the two nations. He noted that Singapore was ready to do even more with India to shape a more resilient and prosperous future together, in line with the evolving global economic landscape.

The meeting reinforced the shared commitment of Singapore and India to strengthening their bilateral partnership, while also contributing to broader regional stability and economic cooperation.
