The Leaders underscored the importance of maintaining ASEAN–U.S. cooperation as a cornerstone of regional stability and economic growth. They recognised the significant contributions of their partnership to areas such as trade and investment, digital transformation, public health, climate action, and people-to-people connectivity, all of which remain vital to ensuring an inclusive and resilient Indo-Pacific region.

A key highlight of the Summit was the adoption of the ASEAN–United States Leaders’ Joint Vision Statement, titled “To Promote Stronger, Safer, and More Prosperous ASEAN and America.” The statement reaffirms both sides’ shared commitment to upholding international law, supporting a rules-based multilateral order, and strengthening collaboration in security, energy, education, and innovation.

In his remarks, Dr Kao Kim Hourn commended the continued engagement between ASEAN and the United States, noting that the partnership reflects ASEAN’s Centrality and the U.S.’s sustained support for regional cooperation. He emphasised the need for joint efforts to accelerate sustainable development, enhance energy transition initiatives, and bolster ASEAN’s digital economy to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and youth entrepreneurs.

President Donald J. Trump reaffirmed the United States’ commitment to ASEAN’s unity and prosperity, highlighting the ASEAN–U.S. Comprehensive Strategic Partnership as a “key driver of peace and economic dynamism” in the region. He expressed optimism about future cooperation in critical sectors such as infrastructure development, supply chain resilience, and climate resilience.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to strengthen coordination under the ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific (AOIP), enhance cooperation in maritime security, and continue advancing initiatives that promote peace, stability, and shared prosperity. The Leaders expressed confidence that the renewed vision will serve as a guiding framework for deeper ASEAN–U.S. engagement in the years ahead.
