Singapore, October 2025 – The Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF) welcomed a high-level delegation from Shandong Province from 17 to 18 September 2025 as part of the official Singapore-Shandong Week, strengthening long-standing economic ties and advancing collaboration across key growth sectors.

The Shandong delegation was led by Vice Mayor of Jinan, Yang Li, and Vice Mayor of Qingdao, Gao Jian. They were received by SMF President Lennon Tan, Chief Executive Officer Dennis Mark, and industry leaders including SMF Energy and Chemicals Chairman Michael Wong and International Markets and Partnership Director Martin Yuoon. Discussions emphasised shared priorities in manufacturing cooperation, technology exchange, and sustainable industry development.

Both sides explored partnership opportunities in advanced manufacturing, artificial intelligence applications for industrial productivity, and green and low-carbon energy solutions. The dialogue also recognised ongoing progress in the China-Singapore Jinan Future Industry City project, which aims to foster future-ready industries and deepen regional integration.

Shandong Province, one of China’s most industrially diverse and economically significant regions, presents a robust platform for long-term collaboration. With strong capabilities in chemicals, equipment manufacturing, and modern services, Shandong continues to enhance its global competitiveness through innovation and economic openness.

The successful engagement demonstrates Singapore and Shandong’s shared commitment to driving innovation-led growth, supporting business partnerships, and deepening regional economic cooperation in a fast-evolving global landscape.
