Singapore, 24 October 2025 — The National Library Board (NLB) Singapore and the Australian High Commission celebrated the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Singapore and Australia, as well as Singapore’s 60th year of independence, with a meaningful book exchange ceremony held at the Punggol Regional Library. The initiative highlighted the shared commitment of both countries to education, culture, and people-to-people ties.

At the ceremony, NLB Chief Executive Ng Cher Pong received a selection of classic Australian children’s books from Australian High Commissioner Allaster Cox. The donation featured iconic titles such as Where is the Green Sheep? by Mem Fox and Super Snake by Indigenous author Gregg Dreise. In return, NLB presented a collection of Singaporean children’s books, which will be sent to Australia to introduce young readers there to Singapore’s vibrant literary scene.
