SMF and the Jiujiang Municipal Government signed an MOU to promote investment, talent exchange and cross-border industrial collaboration.
The Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF) and the Jiujiang Municipal People’s Government marked a significant milestone in bilateral industrial cooperation during the China–Singapore (Jiangxi) Industrial Park Investment Promotion Event held in Singapore. A key highlight of the session was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between both parties, formalising a framework to deepen economic collaboration and promote joint development of the China–Singapore (Jiangxi) Industrial Park.
Under the agreement, SMF and Jiujiang committed to supporting investment opportunities for Singapore enterprises in sectors such as high-end manufacturing, biomedicine, and the digital economy. In turn, Jiujiang pledged to provide essential investment facilitation, reinforcing the city’s interest in welcoming high-quality Singaporean firms into its growing industrial ecosystem.

The MOU also created avenues for expanded economic, trade and talent exchange. Both sides agreed to organise reciprocal business delegations, strengthen research collaboration, and support enterprises in Jiangxi seeking to join SMF as International Affiliate Members. This arrangement is expected to enhance long-term knowledge transfer and deepen cross-border industrial connectivity.
The event featured presentations by key leaders from Singapore and China. SMF President Mr Lennon Tan opened the session with remarks underscoring the importance of cross-border partnerships for Singapore’s manufacturing future. Jiujiang’s Vice Mayor Mr Chen Shullian introduced the city’s strategic strengths, while representatives from Jiangxi Guokong Group and Poyang Lake Ecological Sci-Tech City outlined the development plans and competitive advantages of the industrial park.
Industry voices from the SMF community—including Ms Angel Ding of Indoguna, Mr Timothy Chan of Future Fields, and Dr Lihan Zhou of MIRXES—shared perspectives on innovation and regional expansion, illustrating the growing synergy between Singapore and Jiangxi. The session concluded with a shared sense of optimism about the new opportunities arising from the enhanced partnership and the potential for deeper collaboration in the years ahead.
