
The Singapore–India Annual Conference (SIAC) 2025 brought together senior leaders and legal experts from both nations to advance international arbitration
The Singapore–India Annual Conference (SIAC) 2025 was held in New Delhi today, bringing together senior officials, legal practitioners and industry leaders to discuss the future of international arbitration. The conference centred on the theme “Advancing International Arbitration with Innovation, Growth & Opportunity”, reflecting the growing importance of efficient dispute resolution in an era of increasing global investment and cross-border business.

Hon’ble Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal and Singapore’s Hon’ble Minister for Law and Second Minister for Home Affairs, Mr Edwin Tong, jointly participated in the programme, highlighting the strong bilateral cooperation between India and Singapore. Their presence reaffirmed the significance both countries place on strengthening legal frameworks, building investor confidence and expanding opportunities for international commercial engagement.
In his address, Minister Meghwal emphasised that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Government of India remains committed to promoting international arbitration, enhancing legal cooperation and supporting a transparent and predictable investment environment. He noted that improving dispute resolution mechanisms is essential for enabling sustainable economic growth and maintaining trust among global stakeholders.
Minister Edwin Tong echoed these views, stressing Singapore’s long-standing partnership with India in shaping a modern, efficient and innovation-driven arbitration ecosystem. He highlighted the importance of collaboration in enhancing institutional capacity, adopting technology-enabled processes and ensuring that businesses benefit from accessible and reliable arbitration platforms.
The dignified presence of senior officials from both countries further underscored the event’s importance. The conference served as a vital step toward deepening bilateral ties, strengthening judicial cooperation and promoting a more robust cross-border legal architecture that supports growth, opportunity and investor protection across the region.
