The Philippine Embassy in Singapore formally opened its reconstructed Chancery and relaunched Sentro Rizal Singapore through Pasinaya, a ceremonial and cultural event held in January.

Singapore, 9 January 2026 — The Philippine Embassy in Singapore formally opened its newly reconstructed Chancery at 20 Nassim Road and relaunched Sentro Rizal Singapore during Pasinaya, a ceremonial and cultural programme.

The event was attended by around 120 guests, including members of the Filipino community, institutional partners and Embassy personnel. It marked the official opening of the Chancery following its inauguration on 20 October 2025 by Philippine Foreign Affairs Secretary Ma. Theresa Lazaro and Singapore Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan, as well as the commencement of Embassy operations at the new premises on 26 December 2025.

In his address, Philippine Ambassador to Singapore Medardo G. Macaraig highlighted the new Chancery as both a symbol of the longstanding bilateral relations between the Philippines and Singapore and a functional space designed to enhance consular services and community engagement. He also noted that the completion of the project required sustained coordination and adherence to regulatory requirements.

The programme commenced with the singing of the Philippine national anthem at the Embassy grounds, followed by a thanksgiving Mass officiated by Fr. Romeo Yu Chang at the Sinagtala Hall. This was followed by video presentations featuring the redevelopment of the Chancery and recorded messages from officials of the Department of Foreign Affairs and the National Commission of Culture and the Arts.

The formal relaunch of Sentro Rizal Singapore was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Embassy’s consular area. Located within the new Chancery, Sentro Rizal Singapore serves as the Embassy’s platform for cultural diplomacy, aimed at promoting Philippine arts, culture and heritage, while supporting cultural engagement with both the Filipino community and Singaporean partners.

The Pasinaya programme concluded with a networking session and community salu-salo held at the Embassy’s consular area.
