The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, met with Lawrence Wong, Prime Minister of Singapore, to discuss avenues for strengthening Uttar Pradesh–Singapore relations under the India–Singapore Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in investment, infrastructure development, skill development, and digital economy initiatives.

The meeting took place as part of the Chief Minister’s official engagements in Singapore and reflected ongoing efforts to deepen state-level collaboration within the broader framework of India–Singapore bilateral relations. The interaction brought together senior leadership from both sides to exchange views on economic cooperation and long-term partnership opportunities.

During the discussions, both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to advancing India–Singapore ties in line with the vision of Narendra Modi. The Chief Minister highlighted Uttar Pradesh’s development priorities and its focus on creating an enabling environment for foreign investment through infrastructure expansion, governance reforms, and digital transformation.

Prime Minister Lawrence Wong noted that Uttar Pradesh is the third-largest state economy in India and among its fastest-growing regions. He observed that Singaporean companies have already been investing in the state across sectors such as logistics, connectivity, and infrastructure development. He stated, “We had a good exchange on opportunities for Singapore and Uttar Pradesh to strengthen economic ties and support business partnerships,” while indicating the potential for deeper business and investment linkages.

As part of the visit, Chief Minister Adityanath also met with Vivian Balakrishnan, Singapore’s Minister for Foreign Affairs. Their discussions centred on strengthening Uttar Pradesh–Singapore cooperation under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, with emphasis on investment facilitation, infrastructure collaboration, skill development, and digital economy partnerships.

Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan noted that “Uttar Pradesh is India’s most populous state and among its fastest-growing economies, with a young and dynamic workforce,” adding that the state represents an important node for regional connectivity. Both sides reiterated their shared commitment to further strengthening India–Singapore relations through sustained dialogue and collaboration.

The meetings concluded with an expectation of continued engagement between Uttar Pradesh and Singapore stakeholders, aimed at expanding economic cooperation, supporting business partnerships, and contributing to the broader trajectory of India–Singapore relations in the period ahead.
