Thai Navy chief ADM Pairote Fuangchan visits Singapore from 23 to 25 February 2026 to strengthen defence ties and discuss regional security cooperation.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Navy (RTN), ADM Pairote Fuangchan, is making an introductory visit to Singapore from 23 to 25 February 2026. His visit highlights the strong and long-standing defence relations between Singapore and Thailand.

On the morning of 26 February 2026, ADM Pairote called on Singapore’s Minister for Defence, Mr Chan Chun Sing, at the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF). During the meeting, both leaders reaffirmed the close defence ties between the two countries. They also encouraged deeper cooperation between the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) and the Royal Thai Navy (RTN). They exchanged views on regional security developments and discussed ways to enhance collaboration.

During his visit, ADM Pairote also met Vice Admiral Aaron Beng, Singapore’s Chief of Defence Force, after inspecting a Guard of Honour at MINDEF. He later visited RSS Singapura at Changi Naval Base, where he called on Rear Admiral Sean Wat, Chief of Navy. He was briefed on the RSN’s latest developments, including its unmanned capabilities.

The visit reflects the strong defence partnership between Singapore and Thailand. The RSN and RTN regularly engage in high-level visits, mutual port calls, professional exchanges, and cross-attendance of courses. Both navies also participate in joint exercises such as Exercise Singsiam and Exercise Cobra Gold. These activities have helped to deepen mutual understanding and strengthen cooperation between the two countries.
