The Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Singapore, .H.E. Hotmangaradja Pandjaitan, conducted a working visit to Batam on 6–7 March 2026 to strengthen economic diplomacy and identify opportunities to increase investment from Singapore to Indonesia. The visit focused on strategic industrial and digital development zones in the region.

During the visit, Ambassador Pandjaitan toured the Tanjung Sauh Special Economic Zone on 6 March to observe its potential as a logistics and international industrial hub. The zone is projected to attract foreign investment and support Indonesia’s economic growth through integration with global shipping routes and regional trade networks.

On 7 March, the Ambassador also visited Nongsa Digital Park, which serves as a “digital bridge” connecting technology companies and digital talent between Indonesia and Singapore. The visit formed part of the Embassy’s ongoing efforts to support the development of Indonesia’s digital economy ecosystem and encourage innovation-driven partnerships between the two countries.

During the same visit, Ambassador Pandjaitan held discussions with the leadership of the Badan Pengusahaan Batam (BP Batam). The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on strengthening economic diplomacy and assessing Batam’s readiness to attract increased investment flows from Singapore.

The working visit underscored Indonesia’s commitment to enhancing economic cooperation with Singapore and expanding investment opportunities that support national economic development and regional connectivity.
