Philippine Embassy promotes Filipino cuisine in Singapore through Filipino Food Month 2026 events
The Philippine Embassy in Singapore joined the Philippines in celebrating Filipino Food Month (Buwan ng Kalutong Filipino) this April 2026, under the theme “Connected by Taste: The Filipino Food in the Flavors of ASEAN.” The annual observance promotes Filipino cuisine as an important expression of national identity and cultural heritage.

Now in its eighth year, Filipino Food Month was established through Proclamation No. 469 and is led by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts, in partnership with the Department of Agriculture Philippines, Department of Tourism Philippines, and the Philippine Culinary Heritage Movement. The 2026 theme highlights shared culinary traditions across ASEAN while celebrating the distinct identity of Filipino cuisine.
As part of the celebration, the Embassy partnered with chefs and restaurants in Singapore to present a series of culinary showcases. These include “Kain Tayo” at FEAST ASIA, featuring a three-week Filipino buffet in collaboration with Chef Edward Lim Esmero from 9 to 26 April 2026, and the “Lechon Diva” pop-up at Red House Seafood, highlighting the work of Ms Dedet dela Fuente from 3 March to 30 April 2026.
The initiative forms part of the Embassy’s broader efforts to promote culinary diplomacy, strengthen cultural appreciation, and foster connections between Filipino and Singaporean communities through food. The programme showcases Filipino gastronomy, including regional dishes and traditional cooking techniques, while highlighting contemporary culinary talent.
Additional activities, including collaborations, industry engagements, and digital initiatives featuring Filipino food establishments in Singapore, are expected to be announced throughout the month.
The Embassy invited members of the Filipino community, Singapore residents, and the wider public to participate in the celebrations and experience the diversity of Filipino cuisine.
