Discover Singapore’s presidential landmark through heritage, gardens, and guided experiences.
The Istana Open House returns as one of Singapore’s most anticipated public events, offering residents and international visitors a rare opportunity to step inside the official residence and office of the President of Singapore. Held several times each year, the event opens the gates of the historic estate, allowing the public to experience its heritage, architecture, and expansive gardens.
According to Singapore’s Istana Office, visitors can explore the beautifully maintained grounds at their own pace while enjoying a variety of activities, including cultural performances, family-friendly programmes, and heritage exhibitions. Guided tours are available for those interested in learning more about the history of the Istana, while separate tours provide access to the Istana Villa and the Presidential Library. The Istana Main Building remains closed as restoration works continue.
The next Istana Open House is scheduled for 26 July 2026, with another opening planned for 1 November 2026. Admission to the grounds is free for Singapore citizens and permanent residents, while overseas visitors are required to pay the standard admission fee. Tickets for selected attractions are available separately, with proceeds supporting beneficiaries of the President’s Challenge.
Visitors are advised to enter through the Main Gate on Orchard Road, a short walk from Dhoby Ghaut MRT station. Security screening is conducted at the entrance, and prohibited items such as sharp objects, flammable materials, drones, tripods, and canned goods are not permitted. The visitor guidelines also encourage guests to use cashless payment methods, dispose of litter responsibly, and observe safety measures throughout the event.
Beyond providing access to a national landmark, the Istana Open House reflects Singapore’s commitment to public engagement and heritage appreciation. The event offers a meaningful opportunity to learn about the nation’s presidency, explore one of Singapore’s most recognisable historic sites, and enjoy a welcoming community atmosphere in the heart of the city.
For the latest event schedule, admission details, tour information, and visitor guidelines, prospective visitors are encouraged to consult the official announcements from Singapore’s Istana Office before planning their visit.
