Industry leaders, technology companies, and manufacturing professionals gathered in Singapore on 29 July 2026 for the Semiconductor × AI Application Forum, which brought together approximately 150 participants to explore the future of semiconductor technologies and artificial intelligence (AI). The forum also marked the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF) and Ennoconn Group to strengthen cross-border collaboration in semiconductor and AI development.

The forum was co-organised by the Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF), Ennoconn Group, and the Taipei Representative Office, with support from Google Cloud, Foxconn, Intel, Vecow, Kontron, MIC, and Caswell. The event served as a platform for industry stakeholders to exchange insights on emerging technologies, innovation, and regional cooperation in advanced manufacturing.

A key highlight of the event was the MOU signing between SMF and Ennoconn Group, witnessed by Representative Dr. Tung Chen-yuan of the Taipei Representative Office. The agreement was signed by SMF President Mr. Lennon Tan and Ennoconn Group Chairman Steve Chu, reflecting both organisations’ commitment to advancing collaboration in semiconductor technologies and AI applications.

In his keynote address, Mr. Lennon Tan emphasised the importance of timely collaboration and innovation within the rapidly evolving AI ecosystem. He noted that the AI industry would reward ecosystems capable of organising and collaborating quickly, adding that manufacturers in Singapore and across the region should position themselves as active participants in shaping the future of AI rather than remaining observers.

The forum featured discussions across four key themes: semiconductor innovation with a focus on physical and edge AI, smart manufacturing through Automated Material Handling Systems (AMHS) and digital twins, smart energy and environmental sustainability, and cybersecurity with an emphasis on Zero Trust frameworks. Together, these discussions examined how manufacturers can leverage data and intelligent technologies to improve decision-making and operational efficiency.

The Semiconductor × AI Application Forum underscored the growing importance of partnerships between industry, technology providers, and research institutions in accelerating innovation. Participants also reaffirmed the value of international cooperation in supporting the next generation of semiconductor and AI applications.
