Singapore’s National Day Message will be delivered in four official languages by national leaders ahead of National Day celebrations
Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong’s National Day Message will be broadcast on Saturday, 8 August 2026, across television, radio, and digital platforms. The annual address will be delivered in Singapore’s four official languages by members of the Government, reaffirming the nation’s commitment to communicating with Singaporeans in their preferred languages ahead of National Day.
The National Day Message forms part of Singapore’s annual National Day observances, providing an opportunity for the Government to address the nation on key developments, national priorities, and the country’s future direction. The message will be broadcast through multiple media platforms to ensure broad accessibility for the public.
Prime Minister Wong will deliver the message in English, while Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry (Trade) Gan Kim Yong will present the Mandarin version. The Malay message will be delivered by Acting Minister-in-charge of Muslim Affairs and Senior Minister of State for the Ministry of Defence Zaqy Mohamad, and the Tamil message will be delivered by Minister of State for the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth and the Ministry of Manpower Dinesh Vasu Dash.
The English broadcast will air at 6.45 pm on CNA and CNA938, followed by the Mandarin version at 7.00 pm on Channel 8 and Capital 958. The Malay message will be broadcast at 8.30 pm on Suria, while the Tamil version will air at 9.00 pm on Vasantham and Oli 968.
Following the initial broadcasts, the National Day Message in all four languages will also be made available on the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) website and the PMO YouTube channel, allowing Singaporeans to access the speeches online at their convenience.
The National Day Message remains an important feature of Singapore’s National Day commemorations, offering an opportunity for national leaders to engage Singaporeans as the country reflects on its achievements and looks ahead to future opportunities and challenges.
