Congratulatory Message from H.E. Kateryna Zelenko, Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Singapore, on the occasion of Singapore’s 61st National Day

”As Singapore celebrates its 61st National Day, I extend my warmest congratulations to the Government and people of Singapore on behalf of the people of Ukraine.

Singapore’s remarkable journey – from a young island nation to one of the world’s most prosperous economies – continues to inspire people around the globe. It is a story of vision, determination, sound governance and an unwavering belief in the power of human potential.

For Ukrainians, these qualities resonate deeply. We may be separated by thousands of miles, yet our countries share an appreciation for resilience, education, technological progress and international cooperation.

This year offers another opportunity to reflect on the growing friendship between Ukraine and Singapore. Over more than three decades, our bilateral relationship has steadily expanded across trade, investment, education, digital innovation and people-to-people exchanges. Singapore has become an important partner for Ukraine in Southeast Asia, while Ukraine remains committed to strengthening its engagement with Singapore and the broader ASEAN region.

This year, we were honoured to establish the Ukraine-Singapore Business Association which unites companies and entrepreneurs with the common spirit of the world-class research, entrepreneurship and digital transformation.

The ties between our peoples are equally valuable. Ukrainian students, professionals, researchers and entrepreneurs who have lived, studied or worked in Singapore have experienced firsthand the country’s openness, multiculturalism and spirit of excellence. We are grateful for the opportunity to welcome every year the brightest Ukrainian scholars – participants of NTU Global Connect Fellowship in Singapore.

As countries committed to a stable, rules-based international system, Ukraine and Singapore share a common interest in preserving an international environment where every nation can determine its own future free from coercion.

We deeply appreciate Singapore’s humanitarian assistance to Ukraine and the compassion shown by Singaporean organisations, businesses and citizens towards those affected by the war. Acts of solidarity, whether large or small, remind us that humanity transcends borders.

Looking ahead, we see significant potential to deepen cooperation in digital economy, cybersecurity, food security, healthcare, green technologies, education and post-war reconstruction.

Bilateral relations are ultimately about people and the future they create together. The friendship between Ukraine and Singapore rests on mutual respect, shared aspirations and confidence that cooperation delivers benefits for both our nations.

May the Singapore nation continue to flourish in peace, prosperity and unity. May the friendship between Singapore and Ukraine continue to grow stronger for the sake of our peoples and our common humanity.

Happy 61st National Day, Singapore!”
