King Salman chaired the Cabinet session, which reviewed regional security, diplomatic efforts and agreements covering defence, health, logistics, space and halal affairs
Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired the Cabinet session in Jeddah, where ministers reviewed regional and international developments and Saudi Arabia’s diplomatic efforts to support de-escalation and regional stability.
King Salman expressed appreciation to Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif for their efforts in convening the Makkah Al-Mukarramah Summit for Joint Defence. The summit reaffirmed the longstanding ties among Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and Pakistan and established a framework for long-term defence cooperation.
The Cabinet also reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s support for diplomatic solutions, respect for state sovereignty and the security of international waterways, including the Straits of Hormuz and Bab al-Mandab. It welcomed a United Nations Security Council statement concerning threats to regional security and maritime navigation and reiterated its support for UN-led efforts to achieve peace in Yemen.
On international cooperation, the Cabinet approved several agreements and memoranda of understanding, including cooperation with Mozambique in healthcare, Uzbekistan in accounting and auditing, Morocco in logistics, Japan in the peaceful uses of outer space, and Thailand in halal affairs.
The Cabinet also highlighted Saudi Arabia’s upcoming hosting of the UNESCO Global Forum on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence in Riyadh and recognised the achievements of Saudi students at the International Nuclear Science Olympiad.
