The Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency participated in ITB Asia 2026 at the Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre in Singapore from 21 to 23 October 2026, promoting Jakarta’s tourism sector and meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) industry. The participation aimed to expand international business networks, develop strategic partnerships and position Jakarta as a tourism destination and MICE hub in Southeast Asia.

ITB Asia is a business-to-business tourism trade show providing a platform for tourism industry stakeholders to establish business connections and explore commercial opportunities. Jakarta’s delegation comprised 17 tourism industry players representing wellness, hospitality, travel services, tourism associations and destination management.

Mr. Andhika Permata, Head of the Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency, said the event offered opportunities to promote the city while expanding business networks and improving its competitiveness in international tourism markets.

“Jakarta’s transformation into a global city needs to be supported by a stronger tourism and creative economy sector, which is one of the drivers of the city’s economic growth,” he said on 21 October.

Mr. Andhika noted that Jakarta combined modern urban development with historical heritage, cultural diversity and community creativity. He added that the city was developing its tourism offerings beyond its traditional role as a transit destination.

“As Jakarta approaches its 500th anniversary, we want to show that the city’s long journey provides a foundation for moving forward as an increasingly competitive global city. Through the development of urban, cultural, and marine tourism, along with the strengthening of the meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE) industry, Jakarta is ready to welcome the world,” he said.

Ms. Lucky Wulandari, Head of Marketing and Attractions at the agency, said the event provided an opportunity to establish connections with international tourism businesses, attract investment and generate business opportunities that could increase international tourist arrivals in Jakarta.

Ms. Ervienia Oryza, Head of the agency’s Overseas Tourism Marketing Subgroup, said the participation reflected the Jakarta Provincial Government’s efforts to expand international tourism partnerships and develop the city’s position as a destination for tourism and MICE events.

The delegation included seven Jakarta hotels, four tour operators, two tourism associations, two destination management companies, one wellness business and two destinations. Participating organisations included Sari Pacific Jakarta, Pullman Jakarta Central Park, Fairmont Hotel Jakarta, Taman Safari Indonesia and PIK Tourism Board.

The participation was also supported by Indonesia’s Directorate General of Immigration, which provided immigration information to help international visitors understand travel requirements for Indonesia, particularly Jakarta.
