President Halimah Yacob of Singapore visited Uzbekistan from May 23-25, 2023, to strengthen bilateral ties between the two countries. During her visit, she met with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, discussed ways to boost trade and investment, and signed several agreements to promote cooperation in a number of areas, including education, culture, and security.
President Yacob and President Mirziyoyev also held talks on the importance of interfaith dialogue and cooperation. Both leaders stressed the need to promote understanding and tolerance between different faiths, and they agreed to work together to combat extremism and violence.
