The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) invites promising undergraduate students to embark on an enriching journey through its 2024 Undergraduate Internship Programme (UGIP). This initiative offers a unique opportunity to delve into the daily responsibilities and challenges faced by Foreign Service Officers.
The UGIP is structured to provide interns with a comprehensive understanding of the roles undertaken by Foreign Service Officers, allowing them to choose between the Functional and Corporate track or the Political and Economic track. Over a period of four weeks, interns will be exposed to various aspects of diplomatic service, including:
- Engaging in dialogue sessions with seasoned diplomats and management.
- Participating in meetings, conferences, and seminars addressing critical foreign policy matters.
- Conducting research assignments on pertinent global issues.
- Involvement in Directorate or Mission-specific projects and events.
Requirements:
Eligible candidates for the UGIP must meet the following criteria:
- Promising undergraduate students considering a career with MFA, with preference given to those in their penultimate year.
- Singaporean citizenship.
Internship Terms:
Interns selected for the programme will receive a monthly allowance of SGD 1,000, pro-rated for the duration of their internship.
