ON October 24, 2023, the Singapore-International Energy Agency (SG-IEA) Forum held its second day of an insightful discussion on energy transition towards a net zero world. Notable panelists included Department of Energy Philippines Undersecretary Felix William Fuentebella (2nd from left) and Mr. Raymond B. Ravelo (2nd from right), First Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer at MERALCO.
Undersecretary Fuentebella highlighted the significance of energy efficiency and conservation as fundamental approaches for a successful energy transition while Mr. Arevalo noted that for the energy transition to be successful, both the supply chain and the demand should be carefully evaluated.
Initiated in 2008, Singapore International Energy Week (SIEW) is orchestrated by the Singapore Energy Market Authority (EMA), an autonomous board operating under the Ministry of Trade and Industry. Their primary objectives encompass ensuring a dependable and secure energy supply, fostering robust competition within the energy market, and cultivating a dynamic energy landscape in Singapore.
From October 23 to 27, central to EMA’s offerings, this SIEW Summit will showcase distinguished keynotes and panel discussions, all centered around this year’s focal theme. Additionally, pivotal events like the SIEW Energy Insights, SIEW Thinktank Roundtables, and In Dialogue with Youth will be featured. Complementing these, SIEW’s partner events including the Asia Clean Energy Summit, Asian Downstream Summit & Asian Refining Technology Conference, Asia Hydrogen & LNG Markets Conference, and Future Of the Grid present focused platforms for in-depth exploration of industry-specific subjects.
