Senior Minister Teo Chee Hean to represent Singapore at COP28 in Dubai, addressing global climate action.

Senior Minister Teo Chee Hean, also serving as the Coordinating Minister for National Security and Chairman of the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Climate Change, is set to participate in the 28th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28). The conference will take place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from December 2 to December 5, 2023.

During his working visit, SM Teo will actively engage in various events, notably the World Climate Action Summit organized by the UAE COP28 Presidency. Representing Singapore, he is scheduled to deliver the national statement, highlighting the country’s commitment to climate action. Additionally, SM Teo will partake in high-level COP28 events, engage in bilateral meetings with foreign counterparts, and actively participate in events hosted at the Singapore Pavilion.

COP28 UAE aims to foster inclusivity and prioritize results, striving to accelerate global emissions reduction through pragmatic decisions. Singapore stands in support of this initiative, pledging contributions to regional and global efforts to propel climate action. The nation aims to play a crucial role in building a global consensus during COP28.

Following SM Teo’s participation, Minister for Sustainability and the Environment, Grace Fu, will attend the Resumed High-Level Segment of COP28 from December 7 to December 12, 2023. During this segment, Minister Fu will co-facilitate ministerial consultations focusing on climate mitigation.
