Ambassador Jonathan Kaplan and Rear Admiral Carlos Sardiello recently played hosts during a joyous reception for the diplomatic corps and Embassy contacts aboard the USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) while the aircraft carrier was on a port call in Singapore. The event, held to embrace the holiday spirit, featured delightful performances of holiday classics by carolers from The Salvation Army Singapore and the Lion City Brass Band.

The festive gathering on the USS Carl Vinson served as a unique backdrop, fostering goodwill and strengthening diplomatic ties during this holiday season. Notable attendees included representatives from various embassies and diplomatic circles, contributing to the warm and inclusive atmosphere.

The Government of Singapore and the Republic of Singapore Navy received special commendation for their gracious welcome of U.S. service members during the holiday season. This gesture underscored the strong bilateral relationship between the United States and Singapore.
