Indian Air Force’s Sarang Helicopter Display Team participates in the prestigious event with five Dhruv helicopters.

A team of 71 personnel from the Indian Air Force’s Sarang Helicopter Display Team arrived at the Paya Lebar Air Base in Singapore to take part in the Singapore Air Show 2024. The team, known for its breathtaking aerobatics maneuvers, will be showcasing its skills with five Advanced Light Helicopters (ALH), also known as ‘Dhruv.’ The induction was conducted using the IAF’s C-17 Globemaster III heavy lift transport aircraft.

The biennial Singapore Air Show is set to commence on February 20th, 2024, and will run until February 24th, 2024. The event is renowned for featuring various aerial displays from participants worldwide.

Established in 2003, the Sarang Helicopter Display Team made its international debut in 2004 at the Asian Aerospace Show in Singapore. Initially comprising a three-helicopter formation, the team now dazzles audiences with a thrilling five-helicopter display, having performed over 1200 displays at more than 385 venues globally.

The ‘Dhruv’ helicopter, designed and manufactured by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, is an all-weather, multi-mission capable aircraft with rigid, hinge-less rotors, making it highly maneuverable and suitable for military roles. The variant flown by the Sarang team is the ALH MK-I, with other variants including the ALH Mk-II, ALH MK-IlI, and the latest armed version, ALH MK IV.
