The Philippines hands over the chairmanship to Singapore after a productive year leading ASEAN’s digital transformation efforts.
The Philippines participated in the 4th ASEAN Digital Ministers’ Meeting (ADGMIN) and Related Meetings in Singapore from January 30 to February 2, 2024. Led by Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Secretary Ivan John Uy, the Philippine Delegation included key officials and representatives from various agencies.
During the meetings, the Philippines emphasized collaboration in cybersecurity, innovation-driven economies, citizen-centric governance, and digital inclusion. They also held bilateral discussions with strategic partners to enhance international cooperation on cybersecurity and technology exchange programs.
Ambassador Macaraig hosted a dinner for the delegation, and the Philippines officially handed over the chairmanship of the ADGMIN to Singapore. This concludes the Philippines’ successful tenure, marked by achievements such as fostering digital inclusion and advancing innovation-driven economies in ASEAN.
