ADMIRAL John C. Aquilino, Commander of the United States Indo-Pacific Command (INDOPACOM), was honoured with Singapore’s prestigious Meritorious Service Medal (Military) during his official visit to Singapore from the 6th to 10th March 2024. The award was presented by President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and Minister of Defence, Singapore (MINDEF) Ng Eng Hen.

During the ceremony, Admiral Aquilino reiterated the United States’ commitment to advancing prosperity and security in Singapore and the region. The award reflects the strong partnership between the United States and Singapore in ensuring peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
