The US Special Advisor on International Disabiliity Rights, Ms Sara Minkara, engaged with Singaporean leaders to advocate and promote economic, political, and social inclusion for persons with disabilities

MS Sara Minkara, the U.S. Special Advisor on International Disability Rights (SAIDR), visited Singapore from 6th to 23rd March 2024 to meet with lawmakers, civil society representatives, and advocates, focusing on enhancing opportunities for persons with disabilities. During her visit, Ms Minkara met with Ku Geok Boon, CEO of SG Enable, and went to the Enabling Village, a non-profit organization supporting people with disabilities. She also held a roundtable discussion with civil society groups to exchange ideas for creating a more inclusive society. At the end of her visit, Ms Minkara hosted an Iftar gathering for prominent Singaporean women from the community.

The visit provided a platform for sharing insights and addressing barriers faced by persons with disabilities, fostering new connections and impactful dialogues to drive inclusive change.
