Immerse Yourself in Malaysia’s Culinary Heritage at Suntec City Mall, 12-14 April 2024.
SINGAPORE, 11 April 2024 – Suntec City Mall in Singapore is hosting Malaysia Travel Escapade 2024, a showcase of Malaysia’s diverse breakfast culture, from 12 to 14 April 2024. Tourism Malaysia is excited to bring this event to Singapore for the first time, highlighting the country’s rich culinary heritage.
Malaysian breakfast is a delightful fusion of flavors, reflecting the multicultural society of Malaysia. Visitors can savor iconic dishes such as fragrant nasi lemak, irresistible roti canai, and the famous teh tarik at the dedicated breakfast corner. This immersive experience allows guests to explore the sights, smells, and tastes of Malaysia’s breakfast culture.
In addition to live teh tarik demonstrations and food tastings, Tourism Malaysia will spotlight chi kut teh, a popular Chinese herbal soup that is an alternative to bak kut teh and has been recognized as a national heritage dish.
Ms. Mohana Murni Shanmugam, Deputy Director of Tourism Malaysia Singapore, expressed excitement about showcasing Malaysia’s breakfast culture, stating, “We believe the Malaysian breakfast culture is unique and becoming part and parcel of the country’s heritage, deserving recognition and promotion as we gear up for Visit Malaysia Year 2026.”
Visitors can also explore Malaysian handicrafts and enjoy traditional spa services provided by the Association of Malaysian Spas (AMSPA) at Malaysia Travel Escapade 2024.
Malaysia aims to welcome 27.3 million international tourists in 2024, generating RM102.7 billion in tourism receipts. In 2023, Singapore ranked as the top source of tourist-generating markets, contributing significantly to the 8.3 million arrivals. The forthcoming Visit Malaysia Year 2026 has set a target of 35.6 million foreign tourist arrivals, with a target receipt of RM147.1 billion.
