The High Commissioner of Sri Lanka and the Executive Directors of International Business at the Singapore Business Federation (SBF) discussed enhancing bilateral business relations and investment opportunities.
The High Commissioner of Sri Lanka, H.E. Senarath Dissanayake, met with Ms. Samantha Teo and Mr. Soo Wei Chieh, Executive Directors of International Business at the Singapore Business Federation (SBF), on March 28, 2024. During the meeting, they discussed means to enhance bilateral business relations between Sri Lanka and Singapore.
H.E. Senarath Dissanayake highlighted investment opportunities in Sri Lanka’s agriculture, energy, and logistics sectors. He also elaborated on the existing trade relationship between the two countries and how the SBF could assist companies in Sri Lanka to do business with Singaporean companies.
Mr. Soo Wei Chieh emphasized the importance of raising awareness among SBF members about the opportunities available in Sri Lanka. As part of this effort, he agreed to organize an awareness seminar on investment and business opportunities in Sri Lanka in collaboration with the High Commission during the 2nd quarter of 2024.
The Singapore Business Federation (SBF) is the apex business chamber championing the interests of the Singapore business community in the areas of trade, investment, and industrial relations. It represents more than 30,000 companies, as well as key local and foreign business chambers.
Also present at the meeting were Mr. Ray Kwan, Director of the Singapore Business Federation, and Mr. Yasantha Yaddehi, Minister (Commercial) of the High Commission, further enhancing the dialogue and cooperation between Sri Lanka and Singapore in the business sector.
