President Tokayev and Speaker Seah Kian Peng affirm their commitment to enhancing cooperation between Kazakhstan and Singapore during a friendly and productive meeting at Akorda residence.
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev welcomed a parliamentary delegation from Singapore, led by Speaker Seah Kian Peng, at the Akorda residence. The meeting, characterized by a friendly and productive atmosphere, highlighted the deep relationship between the two countries and their mutual desire to strengthen bilateral ties.
The President emphasized the long-standing partnership between Kazakhstan and Singapore, stating, “We are reliable, time-tested partners. Much has already been done to strengthen our ties, but at the same time we set high goals for the further development of our cooperation.” He underscored the crucial role of parliamentary diplomacy in enhancing international cooperation and fostering dialogue between nations.
President Tokayev highlighted the significant presence of Singaporean companies in Kazakhstan, with over 140 companies and joint ventures currently operating in the country. These investments have totaled more than $1.4 billion, demonstrating the strong economic relationship between the two nations.
Speaker Seah Kian Peng expressed gratitude to President Tokayev for the warm hospitality and acknowledged the vast potential for further collaboration between Kazakhstan and Singapore.
The discussions during the meeting centered on the prospects of economic and investment cooperation, as well as regional and international agenda issues. Both sides affirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation and exploring new avenues for partnership.
