THE 13TH WGI MEETING, HELD ON MAY 2-3, 2024, AT THE ENTERPRISE SINGAPORE OFFICE IN SINGAPORE, FOCUSED ON DISCUSSING THE PROGRESS AND FUTURE PLANS FOR INVESTMENT COOPERATION BETWEEN THE TWO NATIONS.

The 13th Working Group of Investment (WGI) meeting between Indonesia and Singapore took place on May 2nd and 3rd, 2024, at the Enterprise Singapore Office in Singapore. The meeting served as a platform to discuss the advancement and prospective actions to further enhance investment collaboration between the two countries.

Delegations from Singapore were led by the Director for Southeast Asia of Enterprise Singapore, while the Indonesian delegation was headed by the Director for Regional and Multilateral Cooperation of the Ministry of Investment, accompanied by representatives from various Indonesian ministries and agencies. These included the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Singapore (KBRI), the Indonesia Investment Promotion Center in Singapore (IIPC), as well as ministries such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing, and Ministry of Health. Representatives from West Java Provincial Government, DMPTSP, Rebana, Kalimantan Industrial Park Indonesia (KIPI), and PERPAMSI were also present.

During the meeting, Singaporean officials shared insights on ongoing and future investment promotion initiatives, particularly in the Food and AgriTech sectors and semiconductor industry. Meanwhile, Indonesian representatives highlighted progress on various infrastructure development projects, including the Nusantara Capital City, the development of Rebana Metropolitan area and KIPI, as well as cooperation in renewable energy and water supply.

Both nations agreed to bolster investment cooperation, especially in digital technology, green energy, blue energy, and healthcare sectors. The outcomes of the meeting will serve as a reference for the upcoming Senior Official Meeting of the Working Group Indonesia-Singapore, scheduled to be held in June in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
