Explore a nostalgic journey through iconic toys from various eras at the National Museum of Singapore’s latest experiential pop-up exhibition.

From 5 July 2024 to 5 January 2025, the National Museum of Singapore invites visitors to reconnect with the joys of their favorite childhood toys at Play – Unlocking Cabinets of Play. This new experiential pop-up exhibition, running daily from 10 am to 6 pm, offers free admission and centers on the theme of toys and play.

A collaborative effort with local artists and toy collectors, this showcase features a diverse selection of over 250 toys, both locally and globally recognized, spanning various eras. Visitors can expect to see cherished collectibles from McDonald’s, vintage Hot Wheels, popular POP MART figurines, and timeless Tamagotchi, among others. The exhibition reveals the fascinating stories behind these beloved icons, inviting visitors to reopen these treasured cabinets of play.

The immersive experience extends beyond the displays, as the museum exterior is transformed with large-scale artworks by local artists. Visitors can enjoy photo-worthy spots and engaging digital gamified experiences, including the opportunity to interact with their own Play:Mate digital toy avatar.
