Promoting Health Awareness and Smoke-Free Lifestyles
ON 1 June 2024, the Philippine Embassy in Singapore announced its participation in the commemoration of Proclamation No. 183 (series of 1993), which declares June as National No Smoking Month (NNSM). This initiative aims to raise awareness about the harmful effects of smoking and vaping on health, community, and the environment.
The Embassy urges the Filipino community in Singapore to adopt smoke-free lifestyles to prevent smoking-related diseases. This call to action emphasizes the importance of protecting one’s health and loved ones by avoiding smoking and vaping.
In Singapore, the use of e-cigarettes or vapes is illegal. The laws strictly prohibit the sale, use, possession for sale, importation, or distribution of tobacco products. The Embassy reminds the Filipino community to comply with these regulations and support the broader goal of a smoke-free environment.
