Talented Singaporean athletes prepare to compete at the World Nomad Games in Astana, Kazakhstan, from September 8-13, 2024, following an inspiring meeting with the Kazakhstan Ambassador to Singapore.

SINGAPORE, 1 August 2024 – Talented Singaporean athletes are gearing up to represent the country at the World Nomad Games, which will be held in Astana, Kazakhstan, from September 8-13, 2024. Led by Bahari Mohd Alfyan Ariff, President and Head Coach of Traditional Archers Singapore, the team includes key members Farhana Noor, Head of Operations, and Fachruddin Dzaki Mohamed, Secretary.

Recently, the athletes had an inspiring meeting with the Kazakhstan Ambassador to Singapore, H.E. Askar Kuttykadam. The ambassador expressed his support and best wishes for their participation in the games.

The World Nomad Games are renowned for their focus on ethnic sports rooted in the folk traditions of historically nomadic peoples. Recognized by UNESCO as part of the Intangible Cultural Heritage List, the games aim to preserve and promote ethno-sports and ethno-cultural movements. This year’s event will feature 21 types of sports, participants from over 85 countries, and more than 2000 athletes.
