Ambassador Agustin Garcia-Lopez Loaeza hosted a reception to bid farewell to outgoing diplomats and welcome new ones.
SINGAPORE, 6th August 2024 – The Dean of Diplomatic Corps, Ambassador Agustin Garcia-Lopez Loaeza, alongside Mdm Katya Anaya de Garcia-Lopez, held a distinguished reception at Shangri-La Singapore. The event was organized to honor the departing diplomats: H.E. Ms. Eugenia Barthelmess, Ambassador of Brazil; H.E. Mario Miranda Duarte, Ambassador of Portugal; and H.E. Eivind S. Homme, Royal Norwegian Embassy. These ambassadors have contributed significantly to strengthening diplomatic ties between their respective countries and Singapore.
The reception was also an occasion to extend a warm welcome to the newly appointed diplomats. Among the newcomers were H.E. Mdm Tamara Villanueva, Embassy of Chile; H.E. Mdm Rabia Shafiq, High Commission of Pakistan; and CDA Francisca Kemi Omayuli, Embassy of Nigeria. Their arrival marks the beginning of new opportunities for collaboration and friendship between their countries and Singapore.
The event was attended by distinguished guests and fellow diplomats, emphasizing the importance of diplomatic relations and international cooperation. The atmosphere at Shangri-La Singapore was one of camaraderie and respect, as attendees reflected on past achievements and looked forward to future endeavors in diplomacy.
