The High Commissioner of Sri Lanka met with Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (LKYSPP) representatives to discuss potential academic collaborations and scholarship opportunities for Sri Lankan public officials
SINGAPORE, 12nd August 2024 – The High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Singapore, H.E. Senarath Dissanayake, recently met with representatives from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (LKYSPP) at the High Commission. The discussion focused on exploring potential collaborations and exchanges between LKYSPP, Sri Lankan universities, and government sector organisations, aiming to strengthen ties between Sri Lanka and Singapore in public policy and academic exchange.
During the meeting, High Commissioner Dissanayake emphasised the importance of continuing the collaboration with LKYSPP, particularly concerning scholarship opportunities for Sri Lankan public officials interested in academia.
The LKYSPP representatives expressed their willingness to support advanced public policy degrees for individuals and offered merit-based scholarships through a competitive selection process. Both parties showed a strong interest in fostering academic and policy-oriented partnerships between the two countries.
The Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy was represented by Ms. Celeste Ho, Deputy Director of Academic Affairs, and Ms. Norlela Binte Mohamed, Assistant Senior Manager of Academic Affairs, alongside Ms. Nanduni Govinnage, Minister Counsellor of the High Commission.
