Minister Bandar Ibrahim Alkhorayef met with the Singapore Manufacturing Federation to explore collaboration in human resource development, automation, and investment opportunities in Saudi Arabia.

Singapore, 2 September 2024 – Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar Ibrahim Alkhorayef, held a pivotal meeting in Singapore today with officials from the Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF) and representatives from various Singaporean companies. The discussions centered on enhancing cooperation in human resource development and automation within the industrial sector.

Minister Alkhorayef actively participated in the Business Roundtable organized by the SMF, Singapore’s largest organization representing the interests of the manufacturing industry. During the meeting, he highlighted Saudi Arabia’s strategic shift from reliance on expatriate workers towards increased automation and substantial investment in human resources. He conveyed the Ministry’s interest in collaborating with the SMF’s Academy to offer specialized training courses for workers in the industrial sector.

Additionally, Minister Alkhorayef outlined the diverse investment opportunities available in Saudi Arabia, underscoring the Kingdom’s competitive advantages, including its strategic location, favourable energy prices, advanced infrastructure, and availability of raw materials. He emphasized the significant potential for investment, particularly in the logistics sector.

The meeting served as an important step in strengthening ties between Saudi Arabia and Singapore, focusing on advancing industrial capabilities and exploring mutual benefits in key sectors.
