President Paul Kagame will visit Singapore from 18 to 23 September 2024, strengthening bilateral ties and advancing cooperation through the Forum of Small States.

SINGAPORE, 18 September 2024 – President Paul Kagame of the Republic of Rwanda is scheduled to make a working visit to Singapore from 18 to 23 September 2024. This visit, marking his fourth to Singapore, highlights the strong relationship between the two nations, both of which are members of the Forum of Small States (FOSS). The Forum plays a vital role in promoting the interests of smaller nations while supporting a robust multilateral system.

During his visit, President Kagame will hold discussions with Singapore’s President, Tharman Shanmugaratnam, as well as Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Lawrence Wong. These high-level meetings will focus on enhancing bilateral ties and exploring further areas of collaboration. In addition, President Kagame will be hosted for a meal by Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong, adding a personal touch to the diplomatic visit.

This visit follows President Kagame’s last trip to Singapore in September 2022 and is expected to further deepen the existing cooperation between Rwanda and Singapore. Both countries continue to work closely within FOSS to advance shared interests and promote the role of small nations on the global stage.
