Minister for Defence praises exemplary contributions at the Total Defence Awards 2024, highlighting Singapore’s resilience in the face of global challenges.
Singapore’s Minister for Defence, Dr Ng Eng Hen, attended the 2024 Total Defence Awards as Guest of Honour at the Raffles City Convention Centre this evening. A total of 144 Total Defence Advocate Awards were presented to 64 Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), 26 Large Companies, 39 Organisations, and 15 individuals. These awards recognise outstanding contributions to the six pillars of Total Defence—Military, Civil, Economic, Social, Digital, and Psychological Defence.
In his address, Dr Ng stressed the importance of Total Defence amidst the world’s growing conflicts and challenges, praising Singapore’s ability to remain a model for racial and religious harmony. He noted that Singapore’s resilience in crises has reinforced the strength of all six defence pillars. He also extended gratitude to the award recipients for their personal and organisational support, acknowledging their crucial role in bolstering Singapore’s security.
Senior Ministers of State Heng Chee How and Zaqy Mohamed, along with Minister of State Dr Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim, presented awards to recipients from various sectors.
