On the first day of the summit, Ambassador Uwihanganye engaged in the Global Leaders’ Dialogue (GLD), where government officials and industry leaders gathered to discuss strategies for achieving sustainable long-term growth in the travel and tourism sector. Key topics of discussion included the importance of public-private partnerships, the role of technology integration, and the adoption of sustainable practices to maximize the sector’s potential.
Throughout the dialogue, participants emphasized the need for collaboration across industries and sectors to strengthen the resilience of global tourism and to ensure inclusive growth. Leaders outlined various strategic priorities, focusing on investments in infrastructure and technology to enhance the travel experience while creating economic opportunities and jobs.
The summit featured high-level government officials such as Sultan Mohammed Al Musallam, Deputy Minister of Tourism for Saudi Arabia; Erika Guerri, Chief of Cabinet for Italy’s Ministry of Tourism; and Chester Cooper, Deputy Prime Minister of The Bahamas. Representatives from major private sector organizations, including Cruise Saudi, JP Morgan Chase, and Radisson Hotel Group, also took part in the discussions.
