Indonesia is hosting the 20th Principals Meeting of the ASEAN Parties Against Corruption (ASEAN-PAC) on 2-5 December 2024 at the Bali Beach Convention Centre in Sanur, Denpasar, Bali. The event, organised by the Indonesian Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), is attended by heads of anti-corruption agencies from all ten ASEAN member states, along with Timor-Leste as an observer.

The meeting aims to strengthen regional cooperation and ensure the effectiveness of anti-corruption measures. On the opening day, Alexander Marwata, Deputy Chair of the KPK, delivered the keynote address, setting the tone for the discussions ahead. The gathering serves as a platform for ASEAN nations to share insights, strategies, and best practices in the fight against corruption.

In his speech, Marwata underscored the importance of collective efforts in combating corruption and reaffirmed Indonesia’s commitment to transparency and good governance. He also highlighted the need for enhanced collaboration between ASEAN countries to address corruption in a more unified and efficient manner.

This meeting marks a significant step in strengthening ASEAN’s anti-corruption framework and building partnerships across borders to tackle the issue more effectively. It is expected that the event will lead to further initiatives and agreements to advance anti-corruption efforts in the region.
