The Singapore Army and the Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF) successfully concluded the 27th edition of Exercise Maju Bersama, held from 5 to 11 December 2024. Taking place in Singapore, this annual bilateral exercise saw the participation of around 250 personnel from the Headquarters 8th Singapore Armoured Brigade, the 41st Battalion, Singapore Armoured Regiment, and the 3rd Battalion of the RBLF.

The exercise featured professional exchanges such as cross-sharing of weapon systems, company-level urban operations drills, and live-firing training at the Multi-Mission Range Complex. The event culminated in a joint urban assault conducted at the Murai Urban Training Facility, exemplifying seamless cooperation and shared expertise between the two Armies.

At the opening ceremony, Chief of Army, Major-General (MG) David Neo, highlighted the significance of this enduring collaboration, stating, “This year marks the 27th edition of the exercise, which is testament to the steadfast commitment from both our nations to regional peace and security, and the deepening of our special relationship.” He further emphasised the value of such exercises in fostering professional ties, exchanging best practices, and building friendships that form the foundation of the wider bilateral relationship.

Exercise Maju Bersama reflects the close and long-standing defence partnership between Singapore and Brunei. Beyond the annual exercise, the two Armies engage in regular high-level visits, professional exchanges, courses, and other bilateral and multilateral training initiatives, further solidifying their collaboration.
