Honouring the Senior Minister’s support and celebrating strong ties between the Indian community and Singapore’s development.
SINGAPORE, 11 January 2025 – The Singaporean Indian community recently hosted an appreciation dinner to honour Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong for his enduring support and contributions to fostering strong ties with the community. The event gathered community leaders, dignitaries, and representatives from various organisations to celebrate the collaborative achievements and shared vision of inclusivity and progress.
During the event, Senior Minister Lee highlighted the pivotal role played by organisations such as the Singapore Indian Development Association (SINDA), Narpani Pearavai, the Hindu Endowments Board, the Indian Heritage Centre, and the Tamil Language Council. These groups were recognised for their efforts in uplifting the community, preserving language and cultural history, and promoting religious harmony, which contribute significantly to Singapore’s multicultural identity.
The Singapore Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SICCI) was also acknowledged for its contributions to strengthening economic ties with India. SICCI’s efforts in supporting local businesses to expand into the Indian market have been instrumental in deepening bilateral relations and regional cooperation.
