From 28 January to 12 February 2025, families and friends can embark on a fascinating journey into the world of snakes while embracing Lunar New Year traditions at Mandai Wildlife Reserve. Guests will learn about the remarkable abilities of snakes and their vital role in maintaining ecological balance, along with receiving auspicious greetings for a prosperous year ahead.
The experience spans day and night across Singapore Zoo, River Wonders, and Night Safari, featuring scheduled Keeper Talk sessions on the king cobra, the green anaconda, and other star reptiles like the cave racer and carpet python. Visitors will discover captivating facts from the care teams, such as the king cobra being the world’s longest venomous snake and the cave racer’s ability to scale cave walls.
Engaging demonstrations include observing the feeding of the king cobra and enrichment activities for the cave racer and carpet python, showcasing their sensory abilities and unique feeding behaviours. For a hands-on experience, meet-and-greet sessions with ambassador species, such as the Honduran milk snake, provide an up-close look at how some snakes mimic venomous counterparts for self-defence.
Adding to the excitement, digital quizzes at Singapore Zoo and River Wonders and a scavenger hunt at Bird Paradise offer visitors the chance to test their knowledge about snakes, Lunar New Year customs, and other fascinating wildlife facts. Participants can even redeem gifts to celebrate the festive spirit.
The festivities continue with lively lion dance performances, appearances by the God of Fortune, and zoo-diac prediction displays offering a glimpse into the year ahead. The first 188 visitors to enter any wildlife park on selected days will receive a limited-edition Mandai Wildlife Reserve zodiac “gold coin.”
Singapore residents can enjoy additional perks with the free WildPass digital membership, including up to 20% off park admission. Those joining the Friends of Wildlife community will receive 15% off membership and a unique red packet set.
