JAKARTA, Indonesia — President Prabowo Subianto officially inaugurated the Daya Anagata Nusantara (Danantara) Investment Management Agency on Monday, 24 February 2025, at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta. This sovereign wealth fund has secured over $20 billion fund, and is set to manage over $900 billion in assets, aiming to boost Indonesia’s economic growth to 8%.
“The launch of Danantara Indonesia today marks a significant milestone,” President Prabowo stated. “It is not merely an investment management agency but a national development instrument designed to optimise our management of Indonesia’s wealth.” President Prabowo also emphasised the government’s commitment to disciplined and accountable financial governance, highlighting that the $20 billion fund was secured within the first 100 days of his administration.
In its initial phase, Danantara plans to invest across more than 20 projects, spanning sectors such as metal processing, artificial intelligence, oil refining, renewable energy, and food production. The fund will operate independently from the existing Indonesia Investment Authority and will oversee significant state-owned enterprises, including Bank Mandiri and Pertamina. Investment Minister Rosan Roeslani has been appointed as its CEO, with Pandu Sjahrir leading the investment unit.
Investment Minister Rosan Roeslani, appointed as Danantara’s Chief Executive Officer, underscored the fund’s mission to serve as a strategic investment instrument. “Danantara aims to optimise state-owned enterprise assets and expedite national economic growth that is sustainable and inclusive,” Roeslani remarked.
Rosan also highlighted the importance of adhering to principles of good governance, caution, transparency, and integrity in managing Danantara’s operations. “These guidelines, as directed by President Prabowo, will steer our management of state assets and future investments,” he added.
The organisational structure of Danantara includes a Supervisory Board, Advisory Board, Oversight Committee, Audit Committee, Investment Committee, and Ethics Committee, all established to ensure transparency and accountability. Rosan expressed openness to input from various stakeholders, including the media, to continually refine Danantara’s governance and investment practices.
The inauguration was attended by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming, former Presidents Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and Joko Widodo, as well as former Vice Presidents Jusuf Kalla, Boediono, and Ma’ruf Amin, marking a unified commitment to Indonesia’s economic advancement.
